Warhammer fantasy battle

The other day while talking to some buddies . We realized we haven't played a game of warhammer fantasy battles in while  . So we planed it for a Monday night . 2000 points of my lizardmen 2000 points of my friends lizard . Vs our one friends 4000 points of his warriors of chaos army . The battle kicked off ruff . The chaos army making there first contact charges . It went bad for me as my dice rolls went sour . The chaos hell cannon keep harassing my lines killing one of my stegadons . Then badly wounding my Saurus lord on his carnsaur mount . My flank began to crumble and my other buddies lizards were doing better on the right flank . But he to had lots of chaos warriors to deal with . Finally my side was in ruins with dead dinosaurs littering the battle field . Dons lizards doing ok and Steve's chaos mopping up and sitting pretty with victory points . We called it with a chaos victory . Lots of fun breaking out fantasy battles again . Great to see all these figs ranked up on the battlefeild . Great game enjoy the pics.

American Civil War battle game

Just started getting into painting civil war minatures which I plan to play using warlord games rules black powder . But for this game my friend hosted a game using his own we'll written rules for the period . We used mostly his minatures which were beautifully painted and some of mine which were not so well painted :) . We refought the battle of the wilderness on the aniversy of the actual battle . May 5th . Dice down at the time the actual battle kicked off . The battle started off in a large field with a road up the middle and two large thick forest on both sides . The union started with two regiments alone waiting for the union re enforcements to come . Not fast enough an entire two confederate brigades began to cross the field to destroy the two union regiments . I was playing the Rebs for this battle . My buddy don lead the union . My confederat line payed into the union forces . More union re enforcements arrived to be thrust rite into the fight . My big break came when I was able to lean on the left flank and forced his regiment to route . Thus began the flank roll up . My first brigade began to route but was refreshed by a whole new brigade fresh for a fight . We called it in the end . The game some what followed what historically happened . The union mis calculated the numbers of the confederat army and piece mealed into the rebel army . One big difference was I advanced the confederates up the middle where there real life counter parts held and just fired on arriving union forces . Great game and rules . Dons minatures were excellent . Great times . Enjoy the pics

Bolt action in the Pacific !!

Got to play bolt action at my local game store in Selden NY Brothers Grim . Great store with a lot of great events and tons of gaming space . So back to bolt action . The setting was a sweltering pacfic island jungle . The mission we rolled up was a bunker defense . My buddy playing as the marines deployed two squads on the objective , holding the rest in reserves  . I was playing as the Japanese . I was able to deploy my entire force up to 18 inches away from the objective in the center of the table . Who ever controlled the objective in the center of table at the end of turn 6 wins . Game started off with my Japanese bursting out of the jungle full speed trying to get into charge range . The steadfast marines opening fire . Trying to break the fanatical Japanese . My Japanese mortar team began accurate mortar fire on the marines position . Hopefully I'd be able to assault in and dig in before marine reserve could come in . The battle on the objective was horrible with a marine flame thrower desimating a enemy squad . But in the end the banzai attack proved costly . Almost totally wiping out the marines . Finally when the dust settled a few marines were left winning the game . But not with a heavy price . Great game , great opponent . If you have an interest in ww2 28 mm wargaming give bolt action a try . For this game we were using two 1000 strait out of the box starter armies . Which retail for about $ 120.00 US  . A awesome deal for any one starting out . Till next time may you dice roll 6"s
