Robotech rpg tactics and many other projects

Just received half of my robotech rpg tactics game and minatures . Wow it's a ton of minatures and stuff . Quickly I started building  . First I started with the zentraedi officiers glaugg battle pod . Being a fan of the old battletech marauder . Great miniatures , but a lot of fiddlly bits and small parts . Be sure to test dry fit the parts together before gluing , as instructions are a little ruff . The rules look fun as well , with a cool command point management system . Where you alternately activate squadrons with your opponent and spend command points to do special abilities . Can't wait to start playing in my drop zone commander city . Also I've started my flames of war British and German armies . Still working on a group of random orks for my 40k army . Flash kits , killa kans , war boss and nobs etc . Still working on more French line soldiers for my napoleonics army for black powder. So full steam ahead . Hopefully I will be able to game some more coming into the holiday season . Nyc comic con 2014 alien cosplay , titanfall cosplay !

Went to NYC comiccon this Friday and Saturday . Friday went with my buddy dressed as a alien warrior and buddy who was dressed as a colonial marine who's pulse rifle was confiscated due to the brand new weapons rules . Never had a problem before . Last year I went as a colonial marine with my 4 foot m56 smart gun no problem . Weapon was checked at security cleared because it was plastic and didn't shoot . It was safety banded and on I went . This year they were going nuts taking every thing . Sad to see Indiana jones have his whip and plastic whip taken at the door . At the end we stoped by security and picked my pulse rifle back up . Besides that we had a blast . Got to wear my alien costume with its new more accurate head . Met a lot of cool people and saw a lot of cool costumes . Got to meet Norm Chang from tested ! He was great to talk to .The next day went with my friend and son . My son loves the con . I went as a militia Titan pilot from EA game Titanfall . My son went as his custom mandalorian . We hit the show floor running checking out all the cool booths . One high point was at the megabots booth . This team of guys had what they had built so far of a giant battling mech . The guys are launching a cool kick starter to help fund it . They asked me to pose with it , and to climb into the cockpit . So cool it was like a dream come true to climb into this metal mech . I've always have been a huge mech warrior fan from my old days of battle tech . I also got to meet Micah  Moore the director of Beat Down Boogie you tube channel . He and his team make the best cosplay videos out there . If you get a chance check out there you tube channel . Great guy , I admire his work so much . His videos are top nocth and filmed amazingly . Totally worth a look . Besides that great time and got to meet a lot of awesome artist . The amount of talent was astonishing that was on display there . We'll till next update enjoy the pics . Drop zone commander battle !

Last night my friend and I broke out our drop zone commander armies . I've been building and painting my UCM army since the game first came out but hadn't played too much . Only to not to many players in my local area . My friend was fielding his new resistance army . I kept joking around about when will it be painted . But with a future child coming next month I belive it will be a bit . Great game . Just picked up the new book . This game is great , it plays well . Awesome models that are easy to paint . The card board city terrain is excellent . It's cheap and sets up easy . It looks great while playing too , very rare to see wargaming tables with very dense buildings due to the expense . We started off with a standard mission from the original book . Game went well with a Lot of carnage . Quickly I sexed two objectives and escaped by condor drop ship . The rest of the game I just tried to prevent the resistance from getting there objectives .my albatross heavy drop ship got shot down by some heavy technicals with anti aircraft guns which I just underestimated . A lot of my mistakes were from not knowing the new armies . I underestimated this scrappy rag tag force . Big mistake . I ended up pulling out a win but earned a new respect for the resiteance army . My only down was the organization of the rule book is bad . It's hard to locate lots of rules etc , but down the road I can see the book being improved . Besides that if you haven't tried drop zone commander , gets your hands on the starter box set . Great game a must for any one wanting a nice size scifi engagement game .

Sorry for the late blog updates but I've been working a lot . But In between work and family I've been putting paint to model ;)  . First off I've finished a power loader sentinel and two imperial knights for warhammer 40k for my friend . I recently finished building and painting some other minatures for flames of war , for a new game ( all quiet on the martain front ) also I'm working on more Napoleonics minatures , for black powder . Also I'm finishing up my united colonies of man drop zone commander army . Here's several pics of my latest projects . Enjoy till next time

Civil war battle using black powder rules

The other day me and my friend got to fight a meeting engagement with two of my civil war armies I have been working on . Great game . We used warlord games Black Powder rules . They work great . Easy to use rules for big games . We had a blast . Some hairy moments when the bulk of the confederate army came on line with the union army . Some great moments and a lot of bad dice rolling dragged the battle into a slug fest . Finally the union regiments began to break and run . Ultimately the union forces were forced to retreat from the plantation they had been ordered to hold . Great time . Great time . Will add more to my armies and play again soon . Enjoy the pics
